I played there yesterday and with a little work this course has potential to be better:
*Most every tee needs to be moved due to erosion.
*Tees 3, 4, 5, 7 & 9 could be relocated to add challenge.
*There is also ample room to expand the course beyond basket #4.
I have received permission in the past to do such tasks and if enough people are interested I'll approach Bridgewater Recreation about any and all course improvements.
Disc Golf Slamming Baskets with a Buddy!
Matt, I would love to help you out with this. Haven't played there before but from what I heard some TLC might make this course pretty nice. Please contact me at curtisbugbee@gmail.com with any plans you have and how I can help out.
Matt, I'm in! As long as my kids let me. I saw the BW mayor once and told her we needed disc golf, she said we already had a course. Then I thought I should have told her "is one basketball court enough". Let me know when and I'll do what I can.
I never like to "re-do" that which the originator has spent so much work / time on, but I've always thought that Chimney Rock dgc 1) had a LOT more potential than was fulfilled by this initial layout, 2) was inherently unsafe - at least a few holes, and could be made into an 18 hole layout (but one needs 9 more baskets, permission, etc.). A redesign of the field holes, combined with a better use of the woods around it, really is in order. If you (Matt) truly have the "OK" to totally change things around (or even if you can only 'revamp' what's in-place now), I'd like to strategize changes and then help with the grunt work later.
