Rutgers is a fun course to play, but I think that there could be some improvements made. These are as follows:
1. The signage is non-existant for the pro tees. The am tees are fine for beginners, but are a pitch and put for all others [yeah, you too Cubby]. Can we upgrade the signage to include pro tees?
2. While we're on the topic of signs. How about a message board at the course. Somewhere that information can be placed, such as course maps & scorecards.
3. Hole ten is a classic, with the stream to the left and the tight fairway. Equally as good are pond two and pond three. Can we make these permanent?
Hi Dave(s) Thanks for your imput on these issues. I will try to explain.
1. The signage is placed by the school. They trust us to play safely on our extended course, but have not indicated they wish the long course marked. The school moved a bunch of tees years ago when a person received stitches from a hit they got from a player on the course. The response was to immediatly move all holes so that they did not cross paths or walkways. This is why 9 is so short.
2. The school has a ban on advertising that isn't approved by the school. And even then it is only allowed in specific places. There is a bullitin board that we can use. It is in Loree gym. And you have to submit the notice to get an approval stamp.
3. Pond 2 and 3 are there for anyone that wants to play them. As far as geting baskets...
This is how it has been. That doesn't mean it must always be this way. I would be very happy to set up a meeting with the school to discuss the course and what it provides us and what we would like to see happen. All tthe above is possible, It's just that we are guests of the school and as such cannot just do what we wish to the course. Even when we're sure it's a benefit.
Yeah, but it's pink. Not that there's anything wrong with that...
